Patrick Stewart to play (a) Bosley in Charlie’s Angels reboot

September 22, 2018 by Gary Collinson

According to THR, Patrick Stewart is in final negotiations to join the upcoming big screen reboot of Charlie’s Angels, which is being directed by Elizabeth Banks (Pitch Perfect 2) and sees Kristen Stewart (Personal Shopper), Naomi Scott (Power Rangers) and Ella Balinska (Midsomer Murders) starring as the new team of Angels.

The reboot updated the premise of the original TV series, with the Townsend Agency now a global security firm which employs various teams of Angels around the world. Each team has its own ‘Bosley’, handlers representing the never-seen Charlie Townsend, with both Stewart and Banks reportedly filling two of these roles.

Stewart will next be seen portraying the character of Merlin in Joe Cornish’s King Arthur reimagining The Boy Who Would Be King, while he also recently signed on to reprise his role as Jean-Luc Picard in a new Star Trek: The Next Generation sequel series at CBS All Access.

Charlie’s Angels has been scripted by Banks and Jay Basu (The Girl in the Spider’s Web), and is slated for release on September 27th 2019.
