Beverly Hills, 90210 reboot is actually a mockumentary with the cast playing themselves

January 9, 2019 by Gary Collinson

Last month it was reported that a Beverly Hills, 90210 revival is in development featuring original cast members Jennie Garth, Tori Spelling, Jason Priestley, Ian Ziering, Brian Austin Green and Gabrielle Carteris.

At the time, it was said that the project wouldn’t be a “traditional reboot”, and now comes word from TV Line that it is actually an hour-long mockumentary-style dramedy which will see the cast portraying fictionalised versions of themselves.

The potential series is being written and executive produced by Mike Chessler and Chris Alberghini, the duo behind The CW’s 90210, and will apparently chronicle the gang’s attempts to get a revival of the classic U.S. teen drama off the ground.

The new Beverly Hills, 90210 is currently being shopped to potential outlets, and it is said that a broadcast network and major streamer have both expressed their interest.

What do you make about this revival and its approach? Is it something you’re interested in seeing? Let us know in the comments below…
