The Walking Dead isn’t holding anything back for future seasons

February 21, 2019 by Samuel Brace

Angela Kang, showrunner for The Walking Dead, says that the series isn’t holding back good material for after season 10.

We are currently deep into season nine of The Walking Dead, a show that has undergone some drastic changes of late in an attempt to freshen things up a little for fans of the long-running AMC zombie series.

Season 10 is already confirmed for the show but is The Walking Dead holding anything back in terms of material for the future? Apparently not, according to showrunner Angela Kang. Speaking with Insider, Kang said they are not assuming the show will continue forever:

“It’s kind of just amazing that we’re going into the 10th season. It’s certainly a milestone that most people never get to cross and we’re so grateful to the fans around the world that have been on that journey with us. I’m approaching it as ‘I’ve got to make a great 10th season.’ I can’t assume anything… You can fall into a trap, just planning ahead and saving the great material for later. We always have to approach it as — we got to put the good material in now.”

This news should certainly please fans of the series. The last thing you want is for a show to be hoarding material for seasons that may never happen, depriving current episodes of quality content. Are you looking forward to the future of The Walking Dead? Let us know in the comments below.
