John Turturro to play mob boss Carmine Falcone in The Batman

November 22, 2019 by Gary Collinson

he Batman has made another addition to its Rogues Gallery, with director Matt Reeves reporting that John Turturro (The Big Lebowski) is set to take on the role of mob boss Carmine Falcone in the Warner Bros. and DC Films reboot.

One of the most powerful figures in the Gotham City underworld, Carmine Falcone previously appeared on the big screen in Christopher Nolan’s Batman Begins, where he was portrayed by Tom Wilkinson, while John Doman played the character in Fox’s Gotham series.

Turturro becomes the latest addition to a rather intriguing cast, which includes Robert Pattinson (The Lighthouse) as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Zoe Kravitz (Big Little Lies) as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Colin Farrell (Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them) as Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin, Paul Dano (Escape at Dannemora) as Edward Nygma/The Riddler, Jeffrey Wright (Westworld) as Commissioner Gordon and Andy Serkis (War for the Planet of the Apes) as Alfred Pennyworth.
