David Lynch addresses rumours about Twin Peaks season four

April 21, 2020 by Samuel Brace

David Lynch knows about the Twin Peaks season four rumours but doesn’t have good news for fans of the cult series.

Twin Peaks did the unthinkable when it returned for its successful third season. The bonkers drama from iconic director David Lynch came back stranger than ever and even left things on a cliff hanger.

Rumours continue to swirl about the show returning once more but what does Lynch think? Well, when he spoke to The Hollywood Reporter he categorically denied it:

“All these rumors are flying about, but I can tell you that there’s nothing happening in that regard. It’s a rumor that even if it was true — there’s nothing happening.”

While this will disappoint fans, Lynch does seem to be attracted more and more to the medium of TV, telling THR that it’s harder than ever to make art house films and that TV is the future:

“No, you never say no to anything, really. But I really love a continuing story, and cable television I say is the new art house. You have total freedom. The sound isn’t as good as a great theater; the picture isn’t as big — but TVs are getting bigger and bigger and better and better, so there’s hope. And then you have this chance for a continuing story, so it’s the new art house, I say.”

Hopefully, Lynch can return to our screens soon, perhaps with a brand new show to mystify us with.
