Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. star believes “everyone will be happy” with the finale

June 5, 2020 by Liam Waddington

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has recently begun airing its seventh and final season on ABC, and typically the final season of a long-running series begs the question, ‘will it have a satisfying conclusion?’ However, according to Henry Simmons, who plays fan-favourite Alphonso “Mack” Mackenzie, he believes “everyone will be happy” come to the finale.

In a recent interview with Collider, Simmons was asked if fans will be satisfied after Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. reaches its conclusion and while he can’t promise everyone will be satisfied, he hopes everyone will accept the end of this story.

“I think so. I think everyone will be happy,” Simmons said. “There are gonna be some fans that still want more, and I hope that’s the case because you wanna leave people wanting more. But the way it wraps up, I can’t say everyone’s gonna be satisfied because I don’t think everyone will be satisfied, but I think everyone will accept the reality of the situation. I’ll leave it at that.”

Although Simmons is confident that the final season will deliver, there have been many cases where the conclusion has fallen short of the expectations of the fanbase.

Picking up where we left off with Season 6 — and the reveal of a new Phil Coulson Life Model Decoy — Coulson and the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. are thrust backwards in time and stranded in 1931 New York City. With the all-new Zephyr set to time-jump at any moment, the team must hurry to find out exactly what happened. If they fail, it would mean disaster for the past, present, and future of the world.

The seventh and final season of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. features a cast including Clark Gregg, Ming-Na Wen, Chloe Bennet, Iain De Caestecker, Elizabeth Henstridge, Henry Simmons, Natalia Cordova-Buckley, and Jeff Ward.
