10 Gloriously Extreme Cartoons from the 1990s | Marvelous Videos

July 3, 2020 by Red Stewart

Red Stewart presents 10 extremely awesome cartoons from the 1990s courtesy of Marvelous Videos….

The 1990s were a time to be alive! Nirvana had introduced us to grunge, Jurassic Park and Pulp Fiction were released back-to-back, and cartoons were undergoing an era of unrestrained creativity.

That’s not to say that every piece of animation was a diamond- for every Ren and Stimpy and Batman: the Animated Series, you had mediocre heaps like Pinky, Elmyra and the Brain. But that aforestated point about creativity still stands, especially as cartoons started to take subconscious inspiration from the burgeoning societal growth around them.

We’re talking, of course, about extreme cartoons- shows that took a ridiculous concept and made it work through sheer persistence, dedication, and imagination. From anthropomorphic sharks to neo-versions of classic superheroes, here are 10 extreme cartoons from the ’90s, courtesy of Marvelous Videos.
