Deep Blue Sea 3 Comic-Con@Home panel features new footage from sharksploitation sequel

July 25, 2020 by Gary Collinson

This year’s virtual edition of the San Diego Comic-Con International may not have the same kind of tantalising line-up of blockbuster movies as fans have grown accustomed to over the past decade, but yesterday did bring us one feature film panel from Warner Bros…. the upcoming straight-to-video sharksploitation sequel Deep Blue Sea 3!

Moderated by Sharknado franchise director Anthony C. Ferrante, the panel features cast members Tania Raymonde (Lost), Nathaniel Buzolic (The Vampire Diaries), Emerson Brooks (MacGyver), Bren Foster (The Last Ship), and Japanese star Reina Aoi, director John Pogue (The Quiet Ones) and screenwriter Dirk Blackman (Outlander), along with some new clips from the film. Check it out below, along with a selection of official images…

Emma Collins, an eminent marine biologist, and her crew have set up a mid-ocean laboratory over a sunken island town in the ocean where they are observing the first known Great White mating area. Unfortunately, the enhanced Bull Sharks that escaped in Deep Blue Sea 2 are also there with their own evolutionary goal: cross-breeding with the bigger, faster Great Whites. The mission’s patron, Richard Lowell, believes that the Bull Sharks contain the key to intelligence enhancement, which he secretly intends to sell for big profits. Now, Emma and her crew are trapped on crumbling stilt houses mere feet over the ocean, caught between predators above and below the water.

Deep Blue Sea 3 is set for a digital release on July 28th, followed by a Blu-ray release on August 25th.
