Selena Gomez teams with STXfilms for Dollhouse

October 16, 2020 by Gary Collinson

Deadline is reporting that actress and singer Selena Gomez has signed on to produce and potentially star in Dollhouse, a psychological thriller from STXfilms which is described as “being in the vein of Black Swan“.

Details on the project are being kept under wraps, but it is said to take place in the upper echelon of New York City’s fashion scene and has been scripted by Michael Paisley. Gomez is set to produce the iflm through her July Moon Productions company alongside Shawn Levy and Dan Cohen of 21 Laps.

“Selena’s involvement is an exciting direction for this project. She is supremely talented as both a star and a producer,” said STXfilms chairman Adam Fogelson. “Teaming Selena with Shawn and Dan’s expertise in the horror-thriller genre will elevate Dollhouse and we couldn’t be more thrilled by the way this is being developed.”

Gomez, whose big screen credits include Spring Breakers, The Big Short and The Dead Don’t Die, recently signed on to reprise her role as Mavis in Sony’s animated sequel Hotel Transylvania 4, which she’ll also executive produce.
