With Steven Spielberg’s adaptation of West Side Story having been delayed an entire year, it has given leading lady Rachel Zegler time to jump aboard another eagerly anticipated blockbuster in the form of Shazam! Fury of the Gods.
Zegler has signed on for what she describes be “a key role” in David F. Sanberg’s follow-up, and having tweeted her news, was quickly welcomed to the Shazamily by it’s star Zachary Levi.

She joins a cast that includes Levi, reprising his role as the superhero bestowed with the power of six Gods, along with his newly empowered foster-family; Freddy (Jack Dylan Grazer), Eugene (Ian Chen), Pedro (Jovan Armand), Darla (Faithe Herman) and Mary (Grace Fulton), and their super-sized alter-egos; Adam Brody, Ross Butler, D.J. Cotrona, Meagan Good, and Michelle Borth.
The sequel to 2019’s $365 million grossing Shazam! has itself been caught up in the pandemic shuffle, but is set to begin shooting in the spring for a June 2, 2023 release.
