Destiny 2’s Season of the Splicer begins

May 12, 2021 by Andrew Newton

The Season of the Splicer has arrived on Destiny 2 today and will once again take players back to the Vault of Glass raid from the original Destiny game.  Running until 24th August, this latest season will bring a new seasonal override activity, new gear to earn and more.

The Vex has become a threat to all those who inhabit the Last City and it’s up to players to team up with Mithrax, Kell of the House of Light, who will teach them in the mystical ways of a Sacred Splicer.  Harness new Splicer tech’, hack the Vex Network and free the Last City from the endless night.

During this season, players will hack into the Vex simulation in the six-player activity Override where they will uncover secrets and steal Vex Codes.  There will also be a weekly pinnacle mission Expunge that will have Guardians exploit vulnerabilities in the Vex Network to destroy it from the inside out.

From the 22nd May, players will be able to take part in the iconic Vault of Glass raid.  This raid has players navigate fractures in time and space to find Atheon, Time’s Conflux.  Veteran fans of Destiny will see some differences this time round as there’s a range of new quality of life changes, new challenges and more.

There’s a chance for players to get a freebie as Armour Synthesis allows players to transmog a Universal Ornament from any piece of armour in the player’s possession.  Those who own the season pass will also get access to the Exotic Stasis Sidearm Cryosthesia 77K, Season-specific Universal Ornaments, XP boosts and more.

Players can join in the action in Season of the Splicer up until 24th August.
