The world can’t sleep in the trailer for Netflix thriller Awake

May 6, 2021 by Matt Rodgers

In a similar vein to one of Netflix’s most successful original movies Bird Box, Awake is a global catastrophe movie with a spin. On this occasion the apocalyptic survival is made even more difficult because the Earth’s population can no longer sleep, leading to hallucination, disorientation, and ultimately death. Check out the trailer here…

After a sudden global event wipes out all electronics and takes away humankind’s ability to sleep, chaos quickly begins to consume the world. Only Jill, an ex-soldier with a troubled past, may hold the key to a cure in the form of her own daughter. The question is, can Jill safely deliver her daughter and save the world before she herself loses her mind.

Starring Gina Rodriguez, Ariana Greenblatt, Frances Fisher, Shamier Anderson, Finn Jones, Lucius Hoyos, Gil Bellows, Barry Pepper and Jennifer Jason Leigh, and directed by Mark Raso, Awake hits Netflix on June 9th 2021.
