Arthur rises to fight once more in Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection

June 1, 2021 by Andrew Newton

Capcom has today announced the release of Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection on Playstation 4, Steam and Xbox One, also Xbox Series X/S via backwards compatibility.  Over 35 years ago brave knight Arthur set out to rescue his beloved and destroy undead, monsters and demons, and this latest entry pays homage to the classics Ghosts ‘n Goblins and Ghouls ‘n Ghosts.

This heroic return of brave knight Arthur sees players battle through horror theme park-like levels on a quest to rescue the princess from the evil Demon Lord.  On this quest to rescue the princess, players will have access to an assortment of weapons and magic befitting a knight and will also be able to gain the help of their friends in the two-player local co-op mode.  In this new co-op mode, the second player will assist Arthur as one of three supporting characters: Barry, who can summon barriers; Kerry, who carries Arthur through danger; and Archie, who can create bridges to cross.  The second player can switch between these characters during play.

As a veteran gamer I was never any good at Ghosts ‘n Goblins and died very easy, but players like me have no need to fear thanks to the special Page mode which lets them continuously respawn with unlimited lives.

Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection also features the mystical Umbral Tree, which allows Arthur to learn and upgrade a variety of magic spells and skills.

Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection is now available on Xbox consoles, Playstation 4 and Steam.
