Indiana Jones 5: Harrison Ford suffers shoulder injury while rehearsing fight scene

June 24, 2021 by Liam Waddington

Per Deadline, Harrison Ford has suffered a shoulder injury while rehearsing a fight scene for the upcoming fifth and final instalment in the Indiana Jones franchise. The outlet is reporting that production will continue with the cast and crew altering the shooting schedule to accommodate Ford’s absence.

Disney has also provided a statement on the injury: “In the course of rehearsing for a fight scene, Harrison Ford sustained an injury involving his shoulder. Production will continue while the appropriate course of treatment is evaluated, and the filming schedule will be reconfigured as needed in the coming weeks.”

While plot details are currently being kept under wraps at Disney and Lucasfilm, we do know the film will star Harrison Ford as Indy for the fifth and final time, Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag), Thomas Kretschmann (Avengers: Age of Ultron), Mads Mikkelsen (Hannibal), and Toby Jones (Captain America: The Winter Soldier) – whose roles are being kept secret.

Indiana Jones 5 sees director James Mangold helming Harrison Ford’s fifth and final outing as the archaeologist and adventurer Indiana Jones with Steven Spielberg, Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall serving as producers, while John Williams will once again compose the score.

Indiana Jones 5 is currently slated for a July 29th, 2022 release date.
