Lance Reddick returning as Charon for John Wick: Chapter 4

July 7, 2021 by Liam Waddington

With filming now underway on John Wick: Chapter 4, Deadline is reporting that Lance Reddick, who plays Charon, the concierge at the Continental Hotel in New York, has signed on to reprise his role once again in the upcoming fourth instalment of the John Wick franchise after appearing in the previous three films.

“Lance has been part of the franchise since the very beginning and has had an integral role in shaping the world of John Wick. I couldn’t be more excited to be working with him again,” director Chad Stahelski said in a statement.

Reddick will star alongside Keanu Reeves who is reprising his role as the eponymous John Wick, Donnie Yen (Ip Man) who is playing a fellow assassin who “shares his same history and many of the same enemies”, Japanese-British pop singer Rina Sawayama as an as-yet-unrevealed female lead, Ian McShane who is returning as Winston, Shamier Anderson (Wynonna Earp), Bill Skarsgård (It Chapter Two), Laurence Fishburne who is reprising his role as The Bowery King,  Hiroyuki Sanada who will be playing a key character known as Watanabe, and Scott Adkins (The Bourne Ultimatum).

While plot details are being kept under wraps, it’s safe to assume that Chapter 4 will pick up after the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum with Keanu Reeves’ John Wick aiming to get revenge against Ian McShane’s Winston for betraying him and taking the fight to the High Table directly.

John Wick: Chapter 4 is currently scheduled for a May 27th, 2022 release.
