Bubble Bobble 4 Friends to launch on PC complete with Baron’s Workshop

August 5, 2021 by Andrew Newton

The Taito Corporation has announced that they will be releasing their hugely successful Bubble Bobble 4 Friends on PC later this summer under the name of Bubble Bobble 4 Friends: The Baron’s Workshop.  This slight name change is thanks to the addition of the new PC exclusive Workshop mode that allows players to create new stages and share them on the Steam Workshop.  Watch the new announcement trailer below…

It’s good to see Bubble Bobble make a return to gamers (even if I can’t play it on my Xbox), I remember playing the first Bubble Bobble on my Spectrum and then Rainbow Islands and Parasol Stars on my Amiga.  Now, thanks to the arrival of Bubble Bobble 4 Friends: The Baron’s Workshop on Steam I will be able to enjoy it once more.

The new PC exclusive workshop mode will allow players to create new stages using a large variety of block types, enemies and gimmicks that become unlocked during playing through the game.  Players are then able to share these new stages with other gamers around the world and also download other people’s creations.

In Bubble Bobble 4 Friends: The Baron’s Workshop, Bub and Bob will be joined on their journey by their friends Peb and Pab as they set out to defeat their enemies Bonner and Baron Von Blubba.  Bub and Bob and their friends will trap and burst enemies through 200 stages of platforming puzzle action.

Bubble Bobble 4 Friends: The Baron’s Workshop features:

  • 1-4 Player local co-op.
  • Join 4 friends through 100 levels then try 100 more super-difficult levels with no continues for the pro-players.
  • Create, share and download more Bubble Bobble stages in The Baron’s Workshop.
  • Original Arcade Mode provides a port of the classic Bubble Bobble for 1-2 players.  There’s even scanlines and screen ratio options!
  • Online leaderboards allow players to prove who’s the better bubble blower.

Bubble Bobble 4 Friends: The Baron’s Workshop arrives on Steam for PC later this summer £30.99/ $39.99/ €39.99.
