Kevin Bacon joins Blumhouse’s conversion therapy horror

September 23, 2021 by Matt Rodgers

Kevin Bacon clearly has a liking for the Blumhouse bucks, because having recently worked for the horror hit-factory on You Should Have Left, he has just signed on to appear in John Logan’s untitled conversion therapy horror for the prolific production company.

Deadline reports that the Oscar nominated SkyFall and Alien: Covenant scribe will make his directorial debut on the film, which is being described as an LGBTQIA+ empowerment tale, and was previously called Whistler Camp.

Little is known about the project beyond the fact that the story takes place at a conversion therapy camp, an abhorrent facility which carries out the practice of attempting gay conversion.

The star of Stir Of Echoes and the original Friday the 13th will produce the film, which also has The Politician‘s Theo Germaine attached.

Using horror as a reflection upon society has resulted in some of the greatest films the genre has ever had to offer, so hopes will be high for this one. Do you agree? Are you excited to see Bacon and Blum back together? Let us know by heading to our social channels @FlickeringMyth…
