Channing Tatum sets System Crasher remake at MGM

February 24, 2022 by Gary Collinson

Fresh from his latest film Dog [read our review here], Channing Tatum is set to reunite with MGM for a remake of the 2019 German film System Crasher, Deadline has revealed.

The original film followed a young girl with a traumatic past, labelled a “system crasher” and seen as a lost cause having bounced from one child services home to another due to her aggressive behaviour. However, she finds herself paired with a caring but tough anger-management coach and the two form an unlikely bond by reconnecting her with nature and nurturing a passion for boxing.

Tatum is set to star in the U.S. remake, as well as producing alongside his Free Association partners Reid Carolin and Peter Kiernan, and Alex Heineman and Andrew Rona of The Picture Company. The script is being written by Garret Levitz of Free Association, while original writer-director Nora Fingscheidt will executive produce. There’s no word yet however on a director for this new version.
