Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer adds Alex Wolff

March 22, 2022 by Liam Waddington

With production currently taking place in New Mexico, director Christopher Nolan’s upcoming Oppenheimer has added yet another name to its ensemble cast as Alex Wolff (Old, Hereditary) has signed on to star in the biopic.

Although Wolff’s role in the film is yet to be revealed, he will star in a stacked cast that includes longtime Nolan collaborator Cillian Murphy (Peaky Blinders), as well as Emily Blunt (A Quiet Place Part II), Matt Damon (Stillwater), Robert Downey Jr. (Avengers: Endgame), Florence Pugh (Black Widow), Rami Malek (No Time to Die), Benny Safdie (Licorice Pizza), Dane DeHaan (Lisey’s Story), Jack Quaid (The Boys), Matthew Modine (Stranger Things), David Dastmalchian (The Suicide Squad, Dune).

Oppenheimer will also star Louise Lombard (After We Collided), Jason Clarke (The Devil All The Time), Josh Peck (Drake & Josh), Matthias Schweighöfer (Army of the Dead), Emily Dumont (Licorice Pizza), Guy Burnet (Ray Donovan), Danny Deferrari (Shiva Baby), and Gustaf Skarsgård (Vikings).

Oppenheimer is written by Nolan and is based upon the biography American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer. Murphy will portray Oppenheimer in the film, which follows the development of the atomic bomb during World War II. The film is currently scheduled for a July 21st, 2023 release date.
