Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi first look images introduce a new Inquisitor

March 9, 2022 by Gary Collinson

Disney+ and Lucasfilm will be taking us back to the sands of Tatooine this May for the hotly-anticipated Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi series, and thanks to Entertainment Weekly we now have our very first glimpse at Ewan McGregor’s return to the galaxy far, far away.

Along with shots of McGregor’s Ben Kenobi (including the above image of the Jedi Master on Daiyu, a new planet that “sort of has a Hong Kong feel to it), the first look images also featuring Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones star Joel Edgerton who reprises his role as Uncle Owen, as well as our first look at Reva (Moses Ingram), an Inquisitor working with Darth Vader and the Grand Inquisitor to hunt down and destroy the Jedi.

UPDATE: The first trailer has been released and you can watch it right here

Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi begins 10 years after the dramatic events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith where Obi-Wan Kenobi faced his greatest defeat—the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, who turned to the dark side as evil Sith Lord Darth Vader.

Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi sees Ewan McGregor (Obi-Wan Kenobi) and Hayden Christensen (Darth Vader) joined in the cast by Prequel co-stars Joel Edgerton (Owen Lars) and Bonnie Piesse (Beru Lars), as well as Star Wars newcomers Moses Ingram, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, Maya Erskine, and Benny Safdie.

Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi will premiere on May 25th, the 45th anniversary of Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope.
