Angela Bassett joins Millie Bobby Brown in Damsel

April 13, 2022 by Ricky Church

Almost two years on since it was first announced, the fantasy film Damsel starring Stranger Things‘ Millie Bobby Brown has an update with another actress joining the cast. According to Deadline, Angela Bassett (Mission: Impossible – Fallout) will star alongside Brown in the upcoming film.

Damsel follow’s Brown’s Princess Elodie, who “is shocked to discover that she’ll be sacrificed to the kingdom’s sacred cave dragon, after being married to her prince charming. She must survive long enough until someone comes to save her – only no one is coming.”

Bassett will play Lady Bayford, Elodie’s stepmother.

Damsel will be directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (28 Weeks Later) from a script by Dan Mazeau (Wrath of the Titans). Brown will executive produce through her PCMA Productions company alongside Mazeua, Joe Roth, Jeff Kirschenbaum Zack Roth and Chris Castaldi.

Brown will be seen reprising her role as Eleven in Netflix’s fourth season of Stranger Things while Bassett will return to the MCU as Queen Ramonda in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever as well as reprising her role as Erika Sloane in Mission: Impossible 7.
