Léa Seydoux, Viggo Mortensen and Kristen Stewart star in teaser for David Cronenberg’s Crimes of the Future

Following the news that David Cronenberg’s Crimes of the Future was to play in competition at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival, Neon have released an intriguing teaser that’s full of the directors signature blend of technologically infused body-horror.

Starring Viggo Mortensen, Léa Seydoux and Kristen Stewart, Crimes of the Future takes place in the not-so-distant future, where humankind is learning to adapt to its synthetic surroundings; plug into the teaser below….

As the human species adapts to a synthetic environment, the body undergoes new transformations and mutations. With his partner Caprice (Léa Seydoux), Saul Tenser (Viggo Mortensen), celebrity performance artist, publicly showcases the metamorphosis of his organs in avant-garde performances. Timlin (Kristen Stewart), an investigator from the National Organ Registry, obsessively tracks their movements, which is when a mysterious group is revealed… Their mission – to use Saul’s notoriety to shed light on the next phase of human evolution.

Crimes of the Future will play in Cannes Competition Official Selection 2022.
