Jason Momoa set for Warner Bros. murder-mystery The Executioner

May 6, 2022 by Matt Rodgers

Jason Momoa is all set to continue his successful relationship with Warner Bros. by headlining action murder mystery film The Executioner for the studio.

Deadline reports that the former Game of Thrones star will once again team up with Warner Bros., where he has already made blockbuster epics Aquaman and Dune, to take a role in the new project from The Eternals writers Kaz and Ryan Firpo, which has a working title of The Executioner.

At this early stage little is known about the story, and as of yet no director is attached, but the project, which was the subject of a competitive bidding war, is reported to be “a fun action murder mystery in the spirit of Knives Out meets The Lord of the Rings.”

Aquaman is currently the highest grossing DC movie of all time, earning $1.1B in sunken treasure, with its sequel Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom hoping to make a similar splash when it arrives in cinemas on March 17th, 2023.
