Joker: Folie À Deux given Fall 2024 release date

August 4, 2022 by Ricky Church

Amid all the uncertainty around Warner Bros. Discovery with the studio shelving Batgirl and Scoob! Holiday Haunt, it seems that Todd Phillips’ Joker sequel Joker: Folie À Deux is safe from the cull as it has just been announced that the film has been given a release date of October 4th, 2024.

Phillips revealed the film’s title from an image of the script in June and Lady Gaga is reportedly starring alongside Joaquin Phoenix’s Arthur Fleck/Joker in the sequel as Harley Quinn. The sequel is even said to feature musical numbers from the pop singer throughout the film.

Joker was released in 2019 and became a smash hit, earning over $1 billion for an R-rated film and an Academy Award for Phoenix as Best Actor for his performance as Fleck. The film followed Arthur Fleck as a man trying to become a comedian while being mocked and ignored by Gotham City society, putting him on the path to become the infamous Joker.

Joker: Folie À Deux will begin production in December.
