Superman & Lois casts Michael Bishop as the new Jonathan Kent

September 8, 2022 by Ricky Church

After Jordan Elsass’ sudden departure from Superman & Lois last month due to personal reasons, the series has chosen Australian actor Michael Bishop (Spin) to replace Elsass as Jonathan Kent.

Bishop has starred in several Australian projects, but made his international debut in the Disney Channel film Spin last year. He’ll now be in Vancouver for the third season of Superman & Lois, which has already begun production, and joins series regulars Tyler Hoechlin as Clark Kent/Superman, Elizabeth Tulloch as Lois Lane and Alex Garfin as Jordan Kent.

Superman & Lois follows Clark Kent/Superman and Lois Lane in their married life as they raise their two teenaged twins Jonathan and Jordan. The family move back to Clark’s hometown of Smallville and after Jordon discovers not only is his father Superman, but he has inherited his Kryptonian powers, the Kent family must work together to save the world from various threats while navigating their superhero life.
