Evil Dead Rise gets a first-look image for Halloween

October 31, 2022 by Gary Collinson

It’s Halloween, and New Line Cinema has marked the occasion with a treat for fans of the Evil Dead franchise as we now have a first look image from next year’s new instalment Evil Dead Rise, which promises to move the Deadite action out of the woods and into the city.

The official synopsis for the new film, directed by Lee Cronin (The Hole in the Ground), reads:

In the fifth Evil Dead film, a road-weary Beth pays an overdue visit to her older sister Ellie, who is raising three kids on her own in a cramped L.A apartment. The sisters’ reunion is cut short by the discovery of a mysterious book deep in the bowels of Ellie’s building, giving rise to flesh-possessing demons, and thrusting Beth into a primal battle for survival as she is faced with the most nightmarish version of motherhood imaginable.

Featuring in the cast of Evil Dead Rise are Lily Sullivan (I Met a Girl), Alyssa Sutherland (The Mist), Morgan Davies (The End), Gabrielle Echols (Reminiscence) and Nell Fisher (Northspur). Original Evil Dead trilogy director Sam Raimi and star Bruce Campbell are producing, although Campbell will not be reprising his role as Ash Wiliams.

Evil Dead Rise is set for release on April 21st 2023.
