Guy Ritchie’s The Gentlemen TV series casts Theo James, Giancarlo Esposito, Kaya Scodelario and more

Guy Ritchie has filled out his cast for the upcoming TV series of his 2019 film The Gentlemen.

Leading the cast will be Theo James (The Time Traveler’s Wife) as Eddie, “the estranged son of an English aristocrat who inherits the family pile – only to discover that it’s sitting on top of the biggest weed farm in Europe.”

Aslo featuring alongside James will be Kaya Scodelario (The Maze Runner), Giancarlo Esposito (Better Call Saul) and Ritchie’s Lock, Stock and Snatch star Vinnie Jones, as well as Daniel Ings (I Hate Suzie), Joely Richardson (Lady Chatterley’s Lover) and Peter Serafinowicz (The Tick).

James stars as Eddie, “the estranged son of an English aristocrat who inherits the family pile – only to discover that it’s sitting on top of the biggest weed farm in Europe.”

The series will stream on Netflix and while it is not a sequel to Ritchie’s film, it is set in the same world and is something of a continuation following a new set of characters. The Gentlemen film starred Matthew McConaughey, Charlie Hunnam, Michelle Dockery, Colin Farrell, Jeremy Strong, Henry Golding and Hugh Grant. It is currently unknown if any of the film’s cast might return to reprise their roles.

“The world of ‘The Gentlemen’ is a little bit of me,” Ritchie said. “I’m thrilled that with Netflix, Miramax and Moonage we have this opportunity to inhabit it once again. We’re looking forward to bringing fans back into that world, introducing new characters and their stories and I am excited to be doing it with this extremely talented cast.”

Production will begin next week in the UK.
