Amy Jo Johnson says Power Rangers 30th anniversary offer wasn’t good enough for Pink Ranger return

January 19, 2023 by EJ Moreno

When the first trailer for Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always dropped, fans were delighted to see all the iconic original actors returning. But one actress was not featured, and it left many puzzled.

Original Pink Power Ranger Amy Jo Johnson was not featured in the trailer and is not returning for the upcoming 30th-anniversary special on Netflix.

In a new tweet, Johnson addresses the situation. The actress says, “For the record, I never said no. I just didn’t say yes to what was offered. But other fun stuff is in store!” She adds, “Looking forward to watching my friends kick ass!”

Check out the tweet below…

For the record I never said no…I just didn’t say yes to what was offered. But other fun stuff is in-store! Looking forward to watching my friends kick ass! 😘 #PowerRangers30

Reading between the lines, it seems like Amy Jo Johnson wanted to return for the anniversary special but wasn’t offered something she felt was worthwhile. We often hear that actors aren’t offered their worth and will hold out. But for what it’s worth, it seems like there is no ill will, and Johnson wants to see all of her former Power Rangers in the special.

Original actors Walter Emanuel Jones, David Yost, Catherine Sutherland, Steve Cardenas, Karan Ashley, and Johnny Yong Bosch are returning to suit up again for Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always.

In the special, the new adventure forces the Rangers to face a familiar threat from the past. In the midst of a global crisis, they are called on once again to be the heroes the world needs. Inspired by the legendary mantra from the franchise ‘Once a Ranger, Always a Ranger,’ Once & Always reminds everyone when you become a Ranger, you are always a part of the Ranger family and always welcome.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always premieres April 19th worldwide on Netflix.
