Grimlock and Tarantulas come to Transformers: EarthSpark as series is renewed for season 2

February 2, 2023 by Ricky Church

When Transformers: EarthSpark returns on Paramount+ next month, several familiar and fan-favourite faces from the Transformers franchise will be seen as Beast Wars‘ Tarantulas and the mighty dinobot Grimlock among other characters will make their presence known. In addition, the series has now been renewed for a second season. Watch the trailer below…

Grimlock is a long fan-favourite in Transformers, originating in the original G1 series in 1984 as he led a team of powerful but occasionally rogue Dinobots. In EarthSpark, he will be voiced by the legendary Keith David who, in addition to his live-action roles, is known for providing his voice in animated series and video games like Mass Effect, Final Space, the Halo series and Rick & Morty.

Alfie Allen (Game of Thrones) will voice Tarantulas, a Predacon from Beast Wars: Transformers who often had his own agenda while Roger Craig Smith will voice the Decepticon Breakdown. The synopsis for the next 8 episodes of Transformers: EarthSpark reads:

The Terrans continue to uncover their powers while they learn to protect themselves against G.H.O.S.T. Twitch, Thrash and the rest of the Malto family will continue to learn what it means to be a Transformers robot, what it means to be human and ultimately what it means to be a family.

Transformers: EarthSpark is executive produced by Ant Ward (Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), Ciro Nieli (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) and Nicole Dubik (Transformers: Rescue Bots) and developed and co-executive produced by Dale Malinowski (Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles).

Transformers: EarthSpark will return on Paramount+ March 3rd, 2023.
