HBO Max’s Colin Farrell-led The Penguin series bolsters its cast

February 14, 2023 by Matt Rodgers

With just under two weeks to go before The Batman spin-off series The Penguin begins shooting, the Colin Farrell led HBO Max show has added Michael Kelly (House of Cards), Shohreh Aghdashloo (The Expanse), Deirdre O’Connell (Outer Range), and Rhenzy Feliz (Runaways) to its cast-list.

According to Variety details on the characters that they’ll be portraying are being kept under wraps, but the quartet will join Academy Award nominee Colin Farrell, who is reprising the titular role he played so brilliantly in The Batman, alongside the previously announced Cristin Milioti (Made for Love), who features in a lead role as Sofia Falcone, the daughter of Carmine Falcone.

Set immediately after the conclusion of Matt Reeves’ $770 million grossing The Batman, the eight-part series will focus on Oswald Cobblepot, aka The Penguin, as he attempts to take control of Gotham’s underworld in the aftermath of Carmine Falcone’s death and the flooding of Gotham at the hands of The Riddler.
