Grant Gustin addresses The Flash movie cameo rumours

April 16, 2023 by EJ Moreno

Is Grant Gustin as good of a liar as Andrew Garfield is when it comes to secret movie cameos? Only time will tell, but Gustin claims he won’t appear in The Flash, the upcoming DC summer blockbuster.

Gustin is best known for his time as Barry Allen, aka The Flash, but sticking to the television version on The CW. While Gustin and Miller’s Flash have crossed paths in a multiverse moment during the DCTV Crisis on Infinite Earths Crossover, don’t expect the same for the film version.

Speaking to TV Line, Gustin prepares for the series finale of The Flash on CW three weeks before the film’s release; the actor reflects on the upcoming movie and is asked if he’d appear.

Gustin gives the outlet a pretty definitive “No,” before expanding: “There’s been a lot of rumors out there for a long time, and no one’s come out directly and asked me, ever, on the record. You know, people ask me on the street all the time, and, yeah, I’m not keeping some big elaborate secret.”

Gustin does add he is excited to see the film, saying, “As a Flash fan myself, now, I’m just excited to see what they do with it.” He notes that seeing “Keaton back in the suit and how they incorporate it” is what he’s most curious to see about.

The final five episodes of The Flash will return to The CW later this month, while Andy Muschietti’s The Flash opens on June 16th.

Along with Ezra Miller as Barry Allen alongside Zack Snyder’s Justice League co-stars Ben Affleck (Batman), Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman), and Kiersey Clemons (Iris West), The Flash will see Michael Keaton making his return as Batman along with Ron Livingston (Office Space) as Henry Allen, Maribel Verdu (Pan’s Labyrinth) as Nora Allen, and Sasha Calle (The Young and the Restless) as Supergirl.

The Flash is set for release on June 16th.
