4 Characters Marvel’s Cinematic Universe Has To Introduce

Dormammu

“Tis I who now stand ready to snuff out the brief candle of your worthless life… I Dormammu!”

This is an easy one. With the impending arrival of Doctor Strange in 2016, his arch villain Dormammu is a paramount addition to the MCU rouges gallary. This monster just has to be brought to life. There are no if’s and’s or buts about it. If you’re not familiar with the incredibly powerful thorn in Steven Strange’s side, Dormammu is born — by some estimation — millions of years ago into another, very scary dimension, named the Faltline, becoming an incredibly powerful sorcerer of nearly unrivalled strength.

Dormammu uses pure energy and matter, to increase his power, always seeking to consume more which leads him to many other worlds such as the awesomely frightening Dark Dimension. The Dark Dimension is a pretty cool place, home to all kinds of unsavoury species and characters but the most interesting thing about the Dark Dimension and what introducing Dormammu could bring to the MCU is that it contains access to many other pocket dimensions, giving him passage to places like Asgard and Earth. The Dark Dimension is a place of such incredible energy that Dormammu sought and succeeded in combining it with his own power making him ridiculously strong and a match, especially within The Dark Dimesnion itself, for pretty much anyone Marvel has to offer. He claims his power rivals that of Zeus and is enough to destroy the mighty Celestials. He even once tried to tackle Eternity himself, the living embodiment of the entire universe. This guy obviously has some major balls and thinks very highly of himself.

Dormammu has constantly been a pain in Doctor Strange’s side and that of his mentor The Great Other. Pretty much anything that happens of consequence to the sorcerer supreme can be led back to the eater of souls (yes, that’s one of his many awesome nicknames). If Kevin Feige and the guys at Marvel are looking for the best possible way to test Strange and provide a consistent and ever returning threat for him and other MCU characters then introducing the great Dormammu is an absolute must. His presence would greatly enhance the MCU going forward and provide some truly terrifying, dimension jumping moments.
