4 Games to Play in 2016

March 23, 2016 by admin

PC, Xbox and PS4 games are coming at us thick and fast. It’s already shaping up to be a great year for us gamers, especially when there are plenty of offers available to keep the costs down. Argos frequently upload new voucher codes for you to take advantage of; as do Asda, Game and Box amongst many other retailers. Check online to see what you can find.

To celebrate another great year of gaming, here is a list of four games we are really looking forward to playing this summer. We cannot wait!

Battleborn – Xbox One, PS4 and PC

Created by Gearbox software, the makers of the award-winning Borderlands franchise, this is a first person shooter game, designed to really test your abilities. In the futuristic world of Battleborn, the last star in a dying universe, the only hope is a new breed of warriors. There is a range of powerful hero characters, each with different skill sets, ready to do battle with the dark forces. Watch out for all the regular things like snipers and corners, oh and of course, don’t forget to use cover whenever possible. One cool thing about this game is you can zoom from first to third person by using certain temporary abilities that players can be awarded. The interface is a lot to digest, with vividly colourful graphics. The good news is that all the major moves and spells are mapped to the regular configuration with your primary fire at the right trigger, and the left provides an alternative shooter.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End –PlayStation 4

Due for release in May 2016, the story continues. In this version, retired fortune hunter Nathan Drake is coerced back into this dangerous world by his brother Sam, whose life is on the line. They both set off to find Libertania, hidden somewhere in the jungles of Madagascar, on a journey through forest terrain, snow-capped peaks and futuristic cities. Drake’s father figure, Scully joins the duo on a fun-filled adventure full of excitement. With the usual high stakes, Drake is forced to chase the bad guys around the world, as he attempts to foil a global conspiracy connected to an ancient treasure.

Mortal Kombat XL – PlayStation 4 & Xbox

NetherRealm Studios has announced the arrival of the latest MK version, due for release in March 2016. It is similar to Street Fighter, in as much as they are both a one on one 2D fighter game, with a set of special moves for each character. Full of gratuitous violence, a trademark of MK, the action is set 25 years on from the previous version, with the characters being the evil offspring of the villains. New additions are the somewhat baffling tower knockout modes, using match modifiers connected to your fighting speed and damage inflicted.

Tom Clancy’s The Division – PlayStation 4, Xbox One & PS4

The Division offers seemingly endless rounds of multi-level missions and activities, which are Ubisoft’s trademark. As with Destiny, it is primarily about developing skills and becoming a champion, as well as the weapons you can obtain. The Division is a tight, cover based shooter where you must tread carefully. Oh and watch out for those grenades!

These are just a few of the hot new titles coming out this summer, guaranteed to test your gaming skills to the limit!
