5 More Movies That Would Make Perfect Video Slots

February 10, 2016 by admin

Reading through the Euro Palace blog I’ve stumbled upon an article which talks about how some movies would make great video slot machines. No wonder they have chosen the slots as a topic – Euro Palace specializes in real money games, and slot machines are the games of choice at such venues. They’ve chosen The Bucket List, any James Bond movie, Mortal Kombat, Kick-Ass and Pulp Fiction for their list. Their reasons are plausible, and they are right – any of the above would make a great slot machine. But let me add five more to the list – hoping for developers to listen. So, here is my five cents, well, erm, movies.

1. Ocean’s Eleven

What better source of inspiration for a video slot machine than a story about a gang robbing three Las Vegas casinos simultaneously? The movie has the visuals and the selection of movie stars to make a perfect video slot, and has enough action and intrigue in it to fuel several different levels, challenges and achievements. A perfect choice, I say.

2. Any M. Night Shyamalan movie

Sometimes too complex, other times too obvious, but never without atmosphere – this is what I feel after seeing most of the Indian director’s movies. And this is what I love in a slot machine – its atmosphere. That’s what makes it fun. As a science fiction buff, I’d probably choose Signs over any other, with aliens, crop circles, glasses of water and the other “signs” on the reels.

3. Alien vs. Predator

I would simply love to see AvP adapted to a game at Euro Palace. Especially since both of the movies failed to live up to my expectations. I’ve played with an Alien based slot machine in the past, and I must say it was marvelous. Mixing in some heat vision and laser scopes, and you have a winner. If it would be anything that resembles The Dark Knight Rises (another movie based slot I’ve played at Euro Palace) I would be pleased.

4. Spaceballs

This Mel Brooks masterpiece is the only Star Wars parody ever to be approved by the great George Lucas himself (on the sole condition that no merchandising would be done outside the silver screen). The movie is filled with colorful characters and clichés that would look and feel excellent in a video slot machine.

5. Dogma

Gambling is considered a godless sin anyway, so why not add some on the top of it? Dogma is a movie that mocks religion in ways never before seen (like God being Alanis Morissette, and Jesus being black…), and would make a perfect video slot machine. Imagine Jay and Silent Bob side games, with the two “prophets” smoking weed outside the Quick Stop! What a game that would be!
