5 Spy Movies To Stream Right Now!

October 7, 2020 by Gary Collinson

If you are a fan of action spy movies and are looking to spend your weekend watching some of the classics, then this article is for you. Thanks to the latest digital technology and streaming services, we have access to tons of content in exchange for a tiny fee, and you can enjoy all your favorite movies and TV shows in high-quality. In fact, there is so much content available on streaming services that you will have a hard time deciding what to watch and what to skip.

Spy movies have been around for a very long time. From classic James Bond movies to the Mission: Impossible series, every movie has its own charm and fun gadgets. The spy movie genre itself is divided into sub-genres as some movies have real stakes and jump scares while others are light-hearted and more on the comic side. But as long as you enjoy the spy movie genre, you are going to like them all. Below we’ve listed a few spy movies that you can stream right now. Let’s have a look:

Enemy of the State

This classic starring Will Smith does not have the lead character as a spy, but he does get chased by a lot of them. The movie follows the story of a lawyer named Robert Clayton, who stumbles on a key piece of evidence that can put a group of corrupt politicians behind bars. However, as the word gets out, he becomes the primary target of those politicians and finds the NSA hunting him. The whole film revolves around surveillance technology and how the government can track you all the time. These days you might be able to track your partner’s phone with the help of GPS technologies about which you can read more over this link, but Enemy of the State takes it to the next level. If you love spy chases, grab some popcorn and put this movie on without thinking too much.

Kingsman: The Secret Service

If you love crazy action, fun James Bond-style gadgets, and quirky one-liners, then this movie is the perfect choice for you. Kingsman: The Secret Service was directed by Matthew Vaughn and is one of a kind movie. The movie stars Colin Firth, Taron Egerton, Samuel L. Jackson, Mark Strong, and tons of other talented actors along with a few surprising cameos. The movie has everything from well-choreographed fights to witty spy dialogue. It also does a great job when it comes to world-building as it pulls you in to its world of spies within the first few minutes. So, if you have not seen it yet, then it is time for you to give it a try.

Bridge of Spies

Another excellent spy movie you can watch stream right now is Steven Spielberg’s Bridge of Spies. However, I must warn you that this movie is nothing like other spy movies. It is a unique take on the spy genre as it follows the story of Rudolf Abel (played by Mark Rylance), a Soviet spy who gets caught on the US soil, and his American lawyer James B. Donovan (played by Legendary Tom Hanks). James Donovan works towards a spy exchange with the CIA’s help to return Rudolf Abel and bring one of the American prisoners home. If you like stories with a lot of interesting dialogue and drama, this is a spy movie that you must not miss out on at any cost.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier

If you are surprised to find a superhero movie on this list, then do not be. Captain America: The Winter Soldier is more of a spy movie than a superhero movie and is easily among the best spy movies to come out in the last decade. This film changed how comic book fans view Captain America as it showed he is much more than a patriot and doesn’t rely on super-strength only. Despite the Marvel super-soldier’s presence, the movie feels quite grounded, and any movie lover can enjoy it greatly.

Johnny English

If you want to enjoy spy action and gadgets with laughter, then Johnny English is the perfect movie for you to stream. When MI5 is under attack, the agency has no choice but to rely on the only agent left behind (Johnny English) who might not be an intelligent spy but is confident in his abilities. Rowan Atkinson does a great job playing an incompetent spy who goes through his enemies based on sheer luck. It’s an excellent movie to watch on a nice Saturday evening.
