Following 18-months in which he has gone from her majesty’s secret service to being completely out-of-service, James Bond finally returns to the big-screen with No Time to Die. Deadline reports that the MGM/EON/Universal blockbuster will start its rollout into 50 territories this Wednesday with Korea, before adding key territories such as the UK, Brazil, Germany, Italy, Japan, Mexico and Spain through the weekend.
With so many of these countries at different stages of the pandemic, experts predict an opening in the region of $90M, but this appears to be a rough estimate taking into account the many variables at play, which includes the film’s whopping two-hour forty minute runtime. As a comparison Spectre opened with $123.5M in 2015, whereas 2012’s Skyfall came in at $109.2M, so even as a cautious estimate, $90M would be a very good result.
