Back in January Jennifer Saunders revealed that plans were afoot to shoot an Absolutely Fabulous movie this year, and now Joanna Lumley has confirmed that a big screen adaptation of the hit BBC sitcom will start filming in October.
“We are all there, the same old gang,” said Lumley on This Morning. “Lots of people you will have seen in it before, I think we are going down to the south of France to do some of the shooting there. It’ll all be shot on location. It is going to be ravishingly funny! Very gorgeous… and completely fabulous!”
Absolutely Fabulous began in 1992 and ran for five series through 2003, while three further episodes aired in 2011 and 2012 to celebrate the 20th anniversary.
