Adam Driver joins Ridley Scott’s The Last Duel

October 23, 2019 by Amie Cranswick

With Ben Affleck forced pass on one of the lead roles to a scheduling conflict, Variety is reporting that Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’s Adam Driver is in talks co-star alongside Matt Damon and Killing Eve’s Jodie Comer in Ridley Scott’s new project The Last Duel.

A revenge story set during the 14th century, The Last Duel is described as “an epic tale of betrayal and justice, told from three distinct points of view: two knights (Damon and Driver) whose bond is tested by treachery and a young woman (Comer) forced to navigate the brutal and oppressive culture of the era in order to survive.”

Affleck had originally been eyeing one of the two Knight roles alongside Damon, but has been unable to work his schedule around New Regency’s Deep Water. He will however remain involved in the project, taking on an as-yet-unrevealed supporting role.

Driver is currently earning rave reviews for his work in Netflix’s Marriage Story and Amazon’s The Report, and returns as Kylo Ren this December in Disney and Lucasfilm’s Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, which dropped its latest trailer yesterday.
