Adam Sandler confirmed for Safdie Brothers’ Uncut Gems

April 4, 2018 by Matt Rodgers

Earlier in the week it was reported that Adam Sandler could be set to replace Jonah Hill in Uncut Gems, the new film from Good Time directors, the Safdie Brothers. Now Deadline are confirming that the funnyman has indeed signed on to headline the heist thriller.

The plot for Uncut Gems is being kept firmly under lock and key, but it has been written by Josh and Bennie Safdie, along with their Good Time collaborator Ronald Bronstein, and is backed by A24, the people behind Lady Bird, The Florida Project, and The Witch.

After earning rave reviews for Good Time starring Robert Pattinson, the Safdie brothers have found themselves in demand, with the duo also said to be in contention to remake the classic Eddie Murphy and Nick Nolte buddy movie 48 Hours.

Adam Sandler will next be seen in The Week Of, his latest project at Netflix, which is set to hit the streaming service on April 27th and sees him starring alongside Chris Rock.Watch the trailer here.
