American Horror Story’s Finn Witttrock joins The Assassination of Gianni Versace

June 23, 2017 by Samuel Brace

Finn Wittrock has moved over from American Horror Story to the next season of American Crime Story.

The new anthology season, entitled The Assassination of Gianni Versace, is again being orchestrated by one Ryan Murphy who worked with Wittrock on three seasons of his other FX show, American Horror Story.

Wittrock will be playing Jeff Trail, the friend and first victim of the serial killer Andrew Cunanan. Cunanan is being played by Darren Criss of Glee fame.

The Assassination of Gianni Versace will follow the titular designer (played by Edgar Ramirez) and the man that would kill him, with the series cutting backwards and forwards in time between the murder and earlier points of the two men’s lives.

Penelope Cruz is also on board as Gianni’s sister Donatella, with Ricky Martin taking on the role of Gianni’s long time lover Antonio D’Amico.

The Assassination of Gianni Versace will premiere in early 2018 on FX.
