UPDATE: Angela Lansbury reportedly set for Game of Thrones season 7

September 6, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Last week it was announced that Jim Broadbent has joined the cast of Game of Thrones, and now comes word that another British acting legend may have signed on to appear in the seventh season of HBO’s epic fantasy series.

According to a report from German news website Bild (via GamesRadar), Murder She Wrote star Angela Lansbury will guest star in two episodes of season seven. The National Enquirer added to the story, suggesting that Diana Rigg (Lady Olenna Tyrell) recommended Lansbury to the producers.

UPDATE: According to Entertainment Weekly, the rumour is false, and Lansbury won’t be appearing on the show. However, HBO is yet to officially comment.

Season seven of Game of Thrones will get underway a little later than usual, premiering in the summer of 2017, and will run for just seven episodes as opposed to the usual ten.
