Casting is underway on the second instalment of FX’s anthology series American Crime Story, with EW reporting that Oscar-nominee Annette Bening has signed on for the female lead in Katrina: American Crime Story.

The new season will focus on the tragedy and aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, with Bening set to play Kathleen Blanco, the governor of Louisiana.
