Anthony Michael Hall joins Jenna Ortega in Wednesday season 2

May 2, 2025 by EJ Moreno

Wednesday Season 2 is landing some major guest stars with Lady Gaga, Steve Buscemi, and Haley Joel Osment joining this new spooky outing and now a new name has been confirmed for the upcoming second season in Anthony Michael Hall. He’s set to guest star in the series, but his role hasn’t been disclosed yet.

Anthony Michael Hall is best known for his iconic roles in 1980s teen comedies directed by John Hughes. He gained fame portraying “The Geek” in Sixteen Candles, Brian Johnson (“The Brain”) in The Breakfast Club, and Gary Wallace in Weird Science. More recently, he has ventured into genre entertainment, starring in The Dead Zone, Halloween Kills, and this year’s Reacher. Burton and Hall are also familiar with each other as the pair worked together on Edward Scissorhands in 1990.

The hit Netflix series is gearing up for another round, and lead actress Jenna Ortega looks to be having the most fun (while acting like she isn’t having fun). Check out the new poster and teaser below for a glimpse at what’s to come…

Produced and directed by the Grandfather of all things Gothic, Tim Burton, season 2 of Wednesday welcomes back Jenna Ortega in the titular role, alongside Steve Buscemi, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Emma Myers, Joy Sunday, Luis Guzmán, Hunter Doohan, Billie Piper, Isaac Ordonez, Victoria Dorobantu, Georgie Farmer, Moosa Mostafa, Evie Templeton, Owen Painter, Noah Taylor and Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo, with guest appearances from Lady Gaga, Joanna Lumley, Thandiwe Newton, Jamie McShane, Frances O’Conner, Haley Joel Osment, Heather Matarazzo, Joonas Suotamo with Fred Armisen and Christopher Lloyd.

“Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega) returns to prowl the Gothic halls of Nevermore Academy, where fresh foes and woes await. This season, Wednesday must navigate family, friends, and old adversaries, propelling her into another year of delightfully dark and kooky mayhem. Armed with her signature razor-sharp wit and deadpan charm, Wednesday is also plunged into a new bone-chilling supernatural mystery. Creator/showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar return for the spine-tingling second season of WEDNESDAY, alongside executive producer and director Tim Burton.”

Wednesday Season 2 Part 1 streams on Netflix from August 6th. Part 2 arrives on September 3rd.
