Antonio Banderas to play Pablo Picasso in Genius season 2

National Geographic has announced that Antonio Banderas has signed on to the second season of its anthology drama series Genius, where he will portray the legendary Spanish artist Pablo Picasso.

The first season of Genius saw Geoffrey Rush taking on the role of scientist Albert Einstein. It received ten Emmy Award nominations, and has been watched by over 45 million viewers worldwide.

Season two of Genius sees Brian Grazer and Ron Howard returning as executive producers, with Ken Biller as showrunner. It is slated to premiere in 2018.
