Aquaman will set the DCEU “on the right path” says Warner Bros. chief

June 13, 2018 by Samuel Brace

The producer of Aquaman has claimed that the upcoming film will set the DC Extended Universe on the right path.

The DCEU is a truly bizarre entity and it’s hard to know exactly where things lie with the franchise. With a mix of big successes like Wonder Woman and disappointments like Justice League, it’s clear not all is as it should be.

Well, according to Warner Bros. president and Chief Content Officer Toby Emmerich, James Wan’s film will be just the remedy the DCEU needs and will be so transformative that it will get the franchise on the right track.

Speaking to EW, Emmerich said Aquaman is “taking you to a different place and imagining the underwater world in a way you haven’t seen before.

“[Aquaman has] got the great action you expect, it’s got a lot of great humor, it works on so many levels … it’s a testament to James’ unique vision. I think it’s an extraordinary step in [the] DC Universe that sets it on the right path.”

Well, fans of the character and DC’s cast of heroes will be hoping this is very much the case. Whether or not Aquaman will be what the doctor ordered, however, will remain to be seen.
