Arrow’s J.R. Ramirez joins Marvel’s Jessica Jones

July 31, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Arrow and Power star J.R. Ramirez has signed on to the cast of Marvel’s Jessica Jones for its second season, where he is set for a recurring guest role.

Ramirez, who played the vigilante Ted Grant/Wildcat on Arrow, will portray Oscar, the new superintendent of Jessica’s (Krysten Ritter) apartment building, and a devoted single father whose young son becomes enamored with Jessica and her powers. However, Oscar keeps his distance, worrying about the trouble that follows people like her.

“J.R. is an incredible addition to our cast, bringing complex and subtle emotion and humor,” said executive producer Melissa Rosenberg. “He exudes warmth, edge and intelligence, and blends perfectly with our tone.”

Season two of Jessica Jones sees the return of Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones), Rachael Taylor (Trish Walker) and Carrie-Anne Moss (Jeri Hogarth), along with new additions Leah Gibson (Ingrid), J.R. Ramirez (Oscar) and Janet McTeer in an unspecified role. It is slated to hit Netflix in 2018.
