Variety is reporting that Aubrey Plaza is set to portray infamous ‘Hollywood Madam’ Heidi Fleiss in the biopic The Heidi Fleiss Story, which marks the feature directorial debut of Netflix’s Chambers creators Leah Rachel.
Plaza will produce and star in the film, which will focus primarily on the lead up to Fleiss’ legal problems in the mid-90s after being arrested for running a high-end prostitution ring serving wealthy, prominent figures in Hollywood.
The Heidi Fleiss Story has been scripted by Leah Rachel along with Rachel Sennott (I Used To be Funny) and will follow Plaza’s Fleiss “before trial, scrambling around Los Angeles trying to blackmail and leverage various connections to get the case dropped, with the help of an aspiring young writer named Jaclyn.”
Filming on The Heidi Fleiss Story is set to get underway in Los Angeles in the coming months. Plaza meanwhile will next be seen in this month’s Honey Don’t! from director Ethan Coen and co-starring Margaret Qualley and Chris Evans [watch the trailer here].
