Bill Skarsgard says Pennywise is now “angrier and scarier” in It Chapter Two

July 11, 2019 by Samuel Brace

Bill Skarsgard, the star of It Chapter Two, has put fear into fans around the world, saying Pennywise is “angrier and scarier” than in the first movie.

With its September 14 release date not too far away, fans of the first It film are getting excited to see what Pennywise has in store for them in It Chapter Two.

Could the demonic entity get any more horrifying in the sequel? Well, according to the man behind the foe, Bill Skarsgard, the answer is yes. Speaking to EW, the actor said: “He’s scarier and he’s angrier. There’s a couple of very brutal things in the film.”

With such a horrifying monster awaiting our heroes in Derry, why on earth would any of them come back to face him? Well, star James McAvoy explains that everyone but Mike has forgotten the events of the first movie: “When you leave Derry, something happens where you forget it all. I think it’s like a [power] of Pennywise’s. Because if everybody could remember what he gets up to every 27 years through history, we’d go, ‘Hey, Derry’s really fucked up, we should do something about that. We should send in the fucking Army!’”

Of course, they will have their memories jogged pretty quickly and fans will get to revisit the horror with these characters all over again.

Because every 27 years evil revisits the town of Derry, Maine, “It Chapter Two” brings the characters—who’ve long since gone their separate ways—back together as adults, nearly three decades after the events of the first film.

It Chapter Two will see Bill Skarsgard reprising his role as Pennywise the Dancing Clown, while Jessica Chastain (Beverly), James McAvoy (Bill), Bill Hader (Richie), James Ransone (Eddie), Andy Bean (Stanley), Jay Ryan (Ben) and Isaiah Mustafa (Mike) star as the adult versions of The Losers’ Club. Young It stars Jaeden Martell, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Sophia Lillis, Finn Wolfhard, Wyatt Oleff, Jack Dylan Grazer and Chosen Jacobs are also set to reprise their roles from the first movie in flashback sequences.
