Bill & Ted Face the Music adds Kristen Schaal and Holland Taylor

July 14, 2019 by Gary Collinson

As filming continues on Bill & Ted Face the Music, Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Kirsten Schaal (30 Rock) and Holland Taylor (Legally Blonde) have signed on for roles in the long-awaited sci-fi comedy threequel.

As per the site, Schaal is set to portray Kelly, a messenger from the future, while Taylor will play the Great Leader, a character described as “the most powerful person in the universe — the center of which is San Dimas, Calif., 700 years in the future.”

Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves are reprising their roles as Bill & Ted for this latest excellent adventure, while William Sadler (The Grim Reaper), Amy Stoch (Missy) and Hal Landon Jr. (Captain Logan). Other new additions to the cast include Samara Weaving (The Babysitter), Brigette Lundy-Paine (Atypical), Beck Bennett (Saturday Night Live), Jayma Mays (Glee), Erinn Hayes (Children’s Hospital), Jillian Bell (Rough Night), and Kid Cudi (Need for Speed).

Following 1989’s Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure and 1991’s Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey, the stakes are higher than ever for William “Bill” S. Preston Esq. (Alex Winter) and Theodore “Ted” Logan (Keanu Reeves). Yet to fulfill their rock and roll destiny, the now middle-aged best friends set out on a new adventure, when a visitor from the future warns them that only their song can save life as we know it and bring harmony to the universe. Along the way, they will be helped by their families, old friends and a few music legends.

Directed by Dean Parisot (Galaxy Quest) from a script by original Bill & Ted writers Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon, Bill & Ted Face the Music is set for release on August 21st 2020.
