Billy Crudup in talks to play Barry Allen’s dad in The Flash movie

September 10, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Having portrayed Dr. Manhattan in Zack Snyder’s Watchmen, it looks like Billy Crudup is set for a return to the world of DC Comics, with Variety reporting that the actor is in talks to play Henry Allen, the father of Barry Allen, in The Flash.

Should Crudup reach a deal, he’ll join Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League star Ezra Miller in the DC Extended Universe film, along with Dope actress Kiersey Clemons, who is playing Iris West.

Rick Famuyiwa (Dope) is directing the film from a script by Seth Graheme-Smith (The LEGO Batman Movie), while the original treatment was penned by The LEGO Movie’s Phil Lord and Chris Miller. Production is slated to get underway this year ahead of the film’s release on March 16th 2018.
